Kimberly, who is 15yrs old, is such a talented writer. She is always writing poems and is currently working on her first book. Last night our family spent some time standing outside on our porch enjoying the beautiful view. When we came in Kimberly wrote this poem of what she had just experienced. I asked if I could share it ya'll. She said yes. :) So here it is:
"A Play Performed by the Sky" by Kimberly Rodgers
The sky performs a play for us as my family and I stand in awe on our back porch one late afternoon. The gray clouds draw pictures of fascination and wonder. We gleefully try to make them out. A heart here, a bunny there. A great pirate ship sailing on a sea of gray glides past our right. Goofy running top speed passes us to our left. Numerous animals come to our attention. A giraffe wearing a sombrero plays with a gorilla not far from him. A little girl in a flowing dress dances over the sky scrapping mountains. Then as the show begins to wind down, the finale begins. Slowly, delicately, a glowing ball of fire descends from it's home in the heavens. Out of site for a moment til it appears between a thin slit of clouds outlining the rounded mountains. But a thin slit was all it needed. In a matter of minutes it's glorious rays had reached out over the darkening horizon lighting it up in a brilliance that takes our breath away. Then, just as the light had reached it's height and shined in all it's power, it began the daily descent once more into the places beyond our vision. And so as the flaming ball sunk into gray mist, we began to slowly come back to reality and believe the show had ended. But it hadn't ended. Not quite yet. For all of a sudden as if the sun was bowing at the end of a curtain call, it once more sent out its rays highlighting the clouds that are now completely blanketing it. Then finally the golden light fades and the sky embraces the star filled night that is sure to follow.

Exhausted
I taught my first Zumba class today. I subbed for another instructor who had sprained her ankle. It went really well. I had alot of fun. I only messed up a couple of times, but it was no big deal.
After that class I came home and ate lunch, then headed to the Church and led another class for the ladies in my Church. I was so tired and my legs hurt so bad after that. I took a bath and got into bed at 3:30! I just laid there watching TV and reading scripture until about 7:30. I finally got up and did alittle bit of cleaning for about 30 minutes. Now I'm back resting.
My new Zumba shoes came in this afternoon. I can't wait to work out in them. I'm thinking that's why my legs and ankles are so sore. I've been wearing the wrong shoes.

Good day
Yesterday was a good day. First I met a friend at Starbucks to study some scripture together. I had an Aha moment with one of the verses we were looking at. Isn't it funny how you can read a verse a 100 times, but then all of a sudden you FINALLY get what it's saying? LOL
After that me, Scott, Kimberly, Kirsten, and Katherine all went and saw The Avengers. That was an awesome movie! So fun!
Then we went to pick up the littles from a friend who was watching them for us while we were at the movie. She made dinner for us. It was nice getting to visit with her and our other friends that showed up for dinner.
Today's plans are to clean, clean, clean!! Actually first I have to drop Katherine and Kyrie off at the Church to work at the children's camp fund raiser pancake breakfast. Then I'll crack the whip on getting some cleaning projects knocked out. :)
Thanks ya'll for taking the time to read all this.

Continuing my education
I signed up yesterday to attend a Zumba Gold training in Phoenix next month. The gym where I got a job told me they have a HUGE demand for Zumba Gold classes but they just don't have the instructors to teach it. Zumba Gold is for the elderly or those who aren't quite used to exercising. It's a "calmer" version of Zumba. :) I also made the decision to get my AFAA certification. I probably won't do that though until the fall. I'm excited for my future in the fitness world. :)

Birthday!
Today was my birthday! I had a nice, relaxing day. It started with Katherine giving me breakfast in bed. Then we went to Church. When we got home I heard the birth story of when I was born from my mom. Then I opened the presents the littles gave me which were different things they found around the house. Lol For my cake I requested chocolate chip cookie dough. :) It was a great birthday!

Scripture, Movie, Zumba!!
Yesterday was a fun day!! It started out with me meeting a friend at Starbucks to study scripture together.
Then me, Scott, Kimberly, and Kirsten all went to see The Hunger Games. I think this is one case where the movie was actually better than the book!
Afterwards we went and got some food from Whataburger.
Then I got to do something really cool! I attended the GinandTonic Rock the Stage Tour. Gina and Tanya are Bieto's right hand girls with Zumba. They are on all the video's and wii games, etc. We did Zumba for an hour and a half straight! It was incredible! So much energy and excitement in the room!

Call me the centipede catcher!!
A friend called today freaking out over a "bug" that was in her house. She wanted me to come over and kill it for her. I said "Sure!" thinking it was some tiny little creature. Boy was I surprised when I saw what I did. It was the biggest centipede I think I've ever seen!! I was scared to death, but I did it!!! I captured it!!!! I brought it home to show Scott and the kids. Some of us wanted to kill it, but other's of us wanted to set it free. The freedom peeps won. I let it go in the field next to our house. I'm so proud of myself for doing what I did today. Now I feel like I can conquer the world!! Lol
Ugh, I can't figure out how to rearrange the pics with the new blogger set up. The centipede was on my friends carpet. I scooped it up into the can. Then I let it free. That's the order that the pics were supposed to be posted in. :)

CAPE Homeschool Convention
On Thursday me and my friend Laurie went to Albequerque for a homeschool convention. It was incredible! They had vendors and workshops, but the best part was the worship services. It was so neat being in an auditorium full of Christian homeschoolers worshipping God together. The Church was amazing! God has definetly blessed them with a great facilities. I took some pics of the auditorium when it was empty, then when we were in there. I also took some pics of the children's area that was unreal!
I'm so pumped now and ready to continue on the homeschooling journey. I'm so thankful for our freedom to homeschool and the joy of getting to spend so much time with my children. :)

Another day of painting
Today Scott painted Christopher and Kyrie's room, Kirsten and Katherine's room, and our bathroom. It was a huge job but he got it all finished. My big job was cleaning up all the junk that we discovered underneath their beds. Lol
We had another one of our New Mexico dust storms today. Most everybody around here hates then, but I think they are so cool! The one bad part though is the wind knocked over my favorite tree again. I'm afraid we won't be able to save it this time. So I'm pretty bummed about that. :(

Painting has begun!
When we bought this house almost a year ago we had promised the kids we would paint their rooms within the first few weeks of us being here. Well, that plan didn't work out to well. We're just now finally getting around to doing it. Today was Kimberly's room. Scott did the painting, while the kids helped remove the switch covers. I had the lovely chore of doing laundry. Ugh!

Easter Sunday
We began the day by watching the kids see the gifts we had gotten them. This year we got non traditional gifts. We got paint to finally paint their rooms. We also got them water balloons. After we saw the gifts we began hunting the eggs. When we were done with that we went to Church, celebrating the fact that Jesus has risen. It was an awesome service!
Then we went over to a friends house with our Sunday School class for a fellowship. We ate a bunch of food, then did some more egg hunting. When we came back from there we had our massive water balloon fight. It was a lot of fun.
We just watched Amazing Race and now I'm about to crash. I'm exhausted. It's been a great Easter Sunday. :)

The Treasure Hunters
Today I took Kimberly, Kirsten and their friends out geocaching. We had so much fun! We attempted 6, but only found 3. I really need a new GPS. I think the reason why we didn't find the other three is b/c my GPS was off. I took a bunch of pictures, but I'll just post a few of them here for ya'll. I have to make it quick tonight and get busy getting ready for tomorrow. We're gonna have a big day tomorrow for Easter. :)

Speechless
On this Good Friday I was reminded of what Jesus did for me. It should have be me getting spit on and beaten. I should have had the nails driven in my hands and feet. Everytime I sin it's like I'm just driving the nails deeper into Him.
Dear Lord, I'm so sorry for sinning against you. Please forgive me. Thank you for taking my place on the cross and dieing for me when I'm so undeserving of your love. You are an awesome God. My Redeemer. You've made me new. I will praise you and worship you from now through eternity. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Decorating Easter Eggs
It's been a tradition since Kimberly was born to decorate eggs for Easter. I know it's so much easier and faster to just get plastic eggs and fill them with candy. We do that too, but will always decorate some the old fashioned way.
