Hallowasn't Party!

Tonight we had our 6th annual Hallowasn't Party! Once again it was a huge hit! This time though Scott wasn't able to make it b/c he had to work. So we invited April to come over with her boys. We began the night with prayer. Then we played musical chairs, freeze dance, hot potato, lion's cub, Honey do you love me, and then had an obstacle course. After the games I read some verses from the Bible then Kimberly played the piano while we sang a few hymns. Then we had a closing prayer. It was so much fun!!!! The kids have a TON of candy. I hope they eat it fast so it doesn't tempt me.
Even though I always enjoy our Hallowasn't parties I'm glad that Halloween is over. I really don't like this time of year when all the evil stuff is everywhere in the stores. Now I'm excited that tomorrow will be November 1st and we can start focusing on Thanksgiving and Christmas! :)
Oh, we heard from the mechanic, remember how they said the van would be ready today? Well, now they're saying next Tuesday. Sheesh!

I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I completed my last day of WW leader training!! I had to lead a meeting all by myself. I had so much fun!!!!!! Now I just have to wait to see if my territory manager will let me start a group here in Harleton. I hope and pray that she will say yes and I can begin in January.

I'm also happy b/c Scott said I can go to my WW Innovations meeting in Dallas on the 11th instead of having to go to the one in San Antonio this weekend. I really wanted to go to the Dallas meeting b/c then I could go with everyone that I know and see all my friends from BLS. I didn't want to go where I wouldn't know a sole, plus it be a 2 day trip instead of a 1 day thing.

Scott is on his way back from Ft.Worth right now. He survived his two tests that he had today. This week should be a much calmer one. :)

I better get to bed. The pest patrol guy is supposed to be here first thing in the morning.

Nervous day

It began with Katherine complaining that her head hurt, so I gave her some tylenol. We went to Church and everything was fine. However she fell asleep during the service. She NEVER falls asleep during Church. So I was afraid that she was getting sick. When we got home she started crying saying that her head hurt again, so I gave her more medicine. She fell asleep at about 1:30 and slept until 5:00!!! When she woke up though she was feeling great! I don't know what that was all about. She never did run a fever or anything.

I'm not going to be able to sleep at all tonight. I'm so nervous about tomorrow. That's when I lead my very first WW meeting all by myself.

This is going to be a short journal entry tonight. I need to get to bed so I can get up early tomorrow for my big day. If anyone reads this then please say a prayer for me.

Fun Day

We started the day off by watching "Meet the Robinsons." It was a cute movie. While I watched it I had a sock matching party. I can't remember when the last time was that our socks were actually paired up together. Usually we all have to dig through a laundry basket full of socks and try to find matches. It felt good to get that accomplished.
Then I went up to the track and ran a mile. I was going to run 2, but got discouraged when I realized it took me 12 minutes to run the mile. I'm just not getting any faster and it's frustrating! I don't know what to do to improve. :(
I came back home and worked on my WW meeting notes for Monday. Scott took Kimberly to piano, then they went to Petco to get us some more fish. Right when they came home I took the kids to our Sunday School party out at one of the couple's house. We had alot of fun. It started out with the ladies watching the kids play while the guys rode their 4 wheelers. Then we had a huge bon fire where we roasted hot dogs and made smores. The best part was when we had a hay ride. It was FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!!!! The guy driving was going FAST! It was crazy! LOL At one point though we stopped and this stray dog ran up to us and got on the trailor with us. It was so funny b/c we couldn't get him off. When we finally got him off and started going again the poor dog chased us for about 5 miles!! I've never seen a dog run that far by chasing a car before.
The hay ride lasted about 30 minutes. We just got home about an hour ago. The girls were black from playing in the smoke from the bon fire. So they all took baths and are now in bed. I'm about to go jump in the tub myself. I'm still cold!

It will be a miracle if none of my kids are sick in the morning. LOL

Stressful times

Our van was supposed to be out of the shop today. However when we called the mechanic they said they found more problems so now it won't be until Wednesday before it's ready! I am sooooooooooo thankful to a man in our Church for letting us borrow his truck. I don't know what we would have done without having that transporation.

Today school was going great until Kirsten took her math test. She did really good, only missing one problem. She made a 98! However when she found out she didn't make a 100 she started crying. She is such a perfectionist. I felt bad for her for getting so upset. Then I started blaming myself for her missing the problem b/c I was feeling that perhaps it was my fault that I didn't explain it well enough. The question was "? minus 6 =2. Well, she put 4 when the answer should have been 8. I could see what she was thinking by saying 4, but I had to explain to her that she couldn't take 6 from 4. She was so upset. It just broke my heart.

Then something GREAT happened though. I was working with Katherine and she read her first word!!!!!!! This coming from the girl who didn't know all of her letters a few weeks ago. She has really started catching on and is doing wonderfully!

Tonight we went and picked up the video of Kirsten's TV debut. Then went to Blockbuster and rented a couple of movies. One for us called "Next" and one for the kids called "Meet the Robinsons." After that we dropped off some clothes at the dry cleaners, then went to Whataburger and Wal-Mart.
Something really, really, REALLY embarressing happened at Wal-Mart. We had 3 carts worth of groceries and other items. Christopher started getting fussy so I took him out to the truck. Well pretty soon Scott calls me on the cell phone saying that his debit card wouldn't work! So I had to run back inside, meanwhile he's holding up the line while everybody sees that he was having trouble paying for everything. I swiped my card and it worked fine. We knew we had money in the account. We just don't know why Scott's wasn't working. He's going to go to the bank on Monday to see if his strip is messed up or something. Anyway, that was really embarressing.

It's 11:00 now and my eyes are starting to close. Scott and Chris are watching Mythbusters together in the recliner. Everyone else is asleep.

Goodnight

Activities of the day

Today started out in the usual way of me checking my emails then getting breakfast ready for everyone. I don't know what I'm going to do in the morning b/c we are totally out of food. We're going to go grocery shopping tomorrow night, but that won't help us in the morning. :(

Anyway, after breakfast I did school with the girls. Then watched Y&R. It is sooooooo good right now!!!

In the afternoon my friend April, who also homeschools, came over with her two boys for speech. I've been teaching speech for the last 6 weeks. Next year Kimberly will be old enough to compete in Communicators for Christ speech tournaments. I'm really excited about that. She is a very good public speaker.

After speech I did some cleaning of the house, then talked on the phone for awhile with my best friend in San Antonio, Abbie. When we got off the phone I started making garlic bread for our Bible Study tonight. Scott and I have been participating in a marriage Bible Study. It's been really good. Tonight was the last night so we had a spaghetti supper. Scott didn't go though. He had to study for his tests and finish his homework. I'll be glad when he gets past these tests. Poor thing is soooooo incredibly stressed over it all. Tonight he went ahead and went to the men's Bible Study that he's been attending at 9:00 every Thursday. It's neat b/c it's like him and 4 other guys who have been meeting for a couple of years once a week. They just do study after study after study together. He's there right now. He won't get home until about 11:00pm.

I think I have a touch of carpol tunnel in my left hand. It really hurts. :(

I'm going to go finish reading my emails then head to bed.

Uneventful day

Nothing big happened today. I woke up, got dressed, mopped the floor, did school with the girls, watched Y&R, did more cleaning, then got ready for Church.

Right now the girls are brushing their teeth and getting their jammies on. We're about to all meet in the living room for our family devotion, then it's off to bed. I love our devotion time. Scott reads to us from the Bible, then either Kimberly or Kirsten will play a hymn on the piano while we sing. Then we have a family prayer time together. It's a really nice, special time.

It looks like everyone is about ready so I better go.

I'll post more tomorrow!

Ups and Downs

This morning started out with Katherine going to the dentist. The news was NOT good. I don't even want to type how many cavities she has! Not only that, but one of her teeth needs a crown on it!! I feel like such a failure as a mom. She brushes her teeth every day, but I guess I haven't overseen it like I should. Anyway, without dental insurance this is going to hit us hard. I don't know what we're going to do. :(

Things got better when we got home. I got to watch Young and the Restless. It is soooooooo good right now!!

Then we had a neat surprise. A couple from our old Church in San Antonio stopped by unexpectedly. They were in the area and decided to stop in. Their names are Karen and Eugene Berger. It was so nice to see them again. :)

I had my third WW mentoring session tonight. I had alot of fun and did pretty well. Just one more session next Monday where I will actually lead the entire meeting by myself, then I will officially be a WW leader!! At that point I will really start pleading my case to the territory manager to let me start a group here in Harleton.

I came home and watched the Biggest Loser. It's so funny with that show b/c in the "real" world a 2-3 pound loss a week is incredible! On the show they get these insane losses and complain when they only lose like 5 pounds.

Scott is really stressed right now. He has a test in both of his classes on Monday. He's studying really hard, but it's getting to him. This is going to be a long week for all of us I'm afraid. :(

I'm really tired. I hope Christopher goes to sleep fast tonight.

Great news!!

Today has been a good day. I completed my 2nd mentoring session this morning with Weight Watchers. All I had to do was the getting started session. That was pretty easy. I did ok. Tomorrow night I'll have to do a little bit more which includes the Celebration time, closing and the getting started session. I'm nervous about doing the closing. We'll see what happens.

When I was driving home I called Scott. He told me that Katherine had asked Jesus in her heart! We're going to wait and see if we can see a change or not. I'm just not convinced she totally understands. She's 5 which is how old Kimberly and Kirsten were, however they seemed to have a deeper understanding of things then Katherine. Still though when I came through the door and Katherine came running to me telling me that she had asked Jesus in her heart I couldn't help but start crying. That's something that every Christian parent longs to hear their child say. :)

Tonight the "Seeds" TV show that Kirsten was in is airing. However we never could find anyone who got the cable channel that it was going to be on. So for her first time on TV we're going to miss it. :( The good news is I found out we can get a copy of the episode. So we're going to invite a bunch of people over and have a little party and all watch it together. :)

I better go start making dinner for the girls. Then I'm going to take a nice hot bath, pop some popcorn, sit in the recliner under a nice warm blanket and have a cold Dr.Pepper and watch Dancing with the Stars!

Busy days

It's Sunday morning and we're about to start the day. After Church we're going to go eat at El Chico's since Scott doesn't have to work this afternoon. He doesn't have to preach tonight b/c we are having a youth service so the youth director is going to preach. Then I'll go to the ladies Bible Study at 4:00 and get home about 7:00. Sunday's are always such long days.

Yesterday I had a good day. I'm working on decluttering the laundry room. It is a HUGE project that is going to take a long time to accomplish, however I got ALOT done. Scott was working at this thing the Church was putting on for the community. They had this guy come out who trains horses and shares the gospel at the same time. We had a consession stand set up and planned on serving lunch and dinner with a bon fire that night. Planning has been in the works for weeks. Well guess what-not one single person showed up!!!! The only thing we can think of that happened was the Yamboree in Gilmer is this same weekend. That is a HUGE deal. We didn't realize it was the same weekend until after all the flyers had been sent out and advertisements on the radio and newspaper were put on. I felt bad for Scott and the other people who had put so much time into this. It was a huge flop! :(

After Scott dealt with that he had to come home and study for his classes on Monday. He's taking a Greek and Church History class. That Greek class is HARD!!! However he is doing so well. I'm so proud of him.

Well, I guess that's all I'll say for now.

Sighting in the sky

Today I did school with the girls as usual. Then Kimberly and Kirsten went to a friends house to stay the night. Me, Scott and the little's attempted to watch the Transformers movie. It was pretty stressful though b/c they were so loud. Then we all went out and laid on our trampoline and looked at the stars. That was really nice. We saw a shooting star unlike we've ever seen before. It was moving soooo slow. We thought it was a plane at first, but then it got brighter then disappeared. It was really cool. Chris fell asleep on the trampoline. I decided to come in and take a hot bath. It's 9:17pm and I'm craving a Dr.Pepper. I know I shouldn't have one this late, but I really want one. LOL
That's all to report for now.

Testing, testing 123

Well I've decided to enter into the world of blogging. I have no idea what I'm doing. LOL I've seen other people's blog sites and always thought it would be cool to have one. So I'm trying it out. It's 10:13pm right now and I'm tired. So I think I'll stop for tonight and pick up again tomorrow. Hopefully I'll have the site set up the way I like it in a few days or weeks. :)
