So proud of my girls!!!!

Tonight was the AWANA awards night at Church. First Kyrie got up with the rest of Cubbies in front of the Church and sang 2 songs. Then Kimberly got up and said the New Testament books. Then Kirsten and Katherine sang a couple of songs with the Sparks.

After that we went down to the gym to watch a slide presentation and to see what kinds of awards the kids got.

The big news is Kimberly got the Timothy Award!! She is the first person in Harleton history to get that award!!! To get that award she completed all 4 books in the TNT program. That means she memorized over 250 verses. The TNT program usually takes 4 years to accomplish the task of completing book 4. However since she began TNT in the 4th grade she did it in 2 1/2 years!!!!! She got a real cool trophy and will have a gold plated name plate put on a plaque that will hang in the Church for years to come!

She also got the top clubber award for TNT girls! The other awards she got was for attendance, Sunday School and her 3rd book award.

This was a great way to wrap up her AWANA career. :) Since she's moving up to 7th grade she will now be too old to be in AWANAS. :(

Kirsten got top clubber for Sparks again. This is 3 years in a row she's done that! She also got a special Sparks award for finishing all 3 books. Other awards she got was attendance and Sunday School! This is her last year in Sparks. Next year she'll be a TNT.

Katherine and Kyrie both got attendance and Sunday School awards too.

I'm so proud of all my girls. They worked so hard this year.

Oh, and I got a couple of bumper stickers that says my child got a Timothy Award and Sparks Award. :)

What a wild, fun day!

It started out with me taking Katherine to a field trip to Safety City. While I was at First Baptist Church with the other kids waiting for it to be over we got the word just 20 minutes after I had dropped her off that a tornado was on the way towards us! So I rushed back over to pick her up, then came back to First Baptist to take cover. They herded us into an interior room. There was about 15 of us. They gave the kids markers and paper to draw on. The kids were so good. I was so proud of them.

So after the storm passed, we went home and finished our last day of school!! WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!! I survived another year of homeschooling!! LOL

To celebrate Scott and I went on a date. Kimberly and Kirsten babysat for us while we went to eat at Olive Garden then see Iron Man. Iron Man is the best super hero movie I've ever seen!!!!!! It was sooooooooooooo good!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see it again!!!

Oh, I didn't get a chance to post this , but a couple of days ago that I turned 38 years old. I'm getting closer and closer to the big 4-0. AAAAHHHH!!! :)

Tyler trip

We went to Tyler today to do some letterboxing. First we went to the University to try to get the 4 boxes that were there. They are going to be pulled on the 10th so this was our last chance to get them. We had the worst luck! The first one had two security guards standing right by it. We sat there for a bit to see if they would leave, but instead they just sat there then started staring at us. So we moved on to try to get the second box but they were setting up for some big luncheon. There were a bunch of people right by the place that box was located. So then we got in our car and tried to drive to the third and fourth box, but this cop started following us! I sware, wherever we turned he turned! So we decided to just get out of there.

• After that we headed to a park that had one planted there. We couldn't find it though. We're not sure if we were in the right place though. We may try to go back sometime and try it again.



• Then it was off to the Children's Park. There were 2 boxes there. That was a neat little park.



• After that we headed to the State Park to meet up with our friends Donna and Carl Wright and their kids. They had been camping there. They asked us to meet them for lunch and to do some letterboxi ng with them. When we got there we ate lunch then went to see a snake demonstration. It was so cool b/c the ranger talked all about different kinds of snakes that are out there at the park. Then he fed 2 of them mice right there in front of us! It was the coolest thing I ever saw! Those mice didn't even know what hit them. LOL So after that we went hiking and found the boxes. We had alot of fun.



• Then we headed home. On our way we got some Sonic and picked up a couple of movies. We got Waterhorse for the kids and Cloverfield for us. Cloverfield was actually pretty good. I didn't like the way it ended though.



• Oh another thing that was exciting about today was when we got home there were boxes from UPS. It was Christmas presents from Scott's mom. We just never were able to get together for Christmas so she finally decided to mail them.



• It's 10:34 now and I'm pooped. I'm going to go to bed.

Letterboxing in Longview!

We had another wonderful day of boxing today! We did our usual of getting up, packing a picnic, then heading out for the hunt!

We drove to Patterson Park. We had never been there before. It was a really nice park. The trail that runs along it was INCREDIBLE! It was beautiful!!! There were 4 boxes hidden along the trail. The first 3 we found with no problem. However the 4th one when I went to look at the clue I noticed my printer had messed up and cut out key points of the clue! I called several people to see if they could look up the clue for us, but no one was home! We went ahead and ate our lunch then headed out to the other location for the other 2 boxes we needed to get today. I just figured we would have to come back some other time to get the one we missed at Patterson.

So we headed over to Paul G. Boorman Trail. This was another trail that I never knew existed! It was beautiful too! While walking to the first box we spotted a HUGE tree that had a long vine hanging from it! It looked just like the kind Tarzan would swing on! It was just begging to be swung on! LOL So we each had a turn. That was so much fun!!! After we found the first box, my mom called and was able to go look up the clues for us for the one at Patterson and the next one that was on the trail we were on, b/c I noticed that the printer had messed up on that one too!

So we found the last box there and looked at our watch. It was 1:30. Scott had planned on going to see a movie with a friend at 2:00. So we RUSHED back over to Patterson. Scott, Kirsten, and Katherine all jump out of the car and take off running to find that last box! They found it, stamped in and got back to the car with 15 minutes left to get to the movie! LOL We were the first finders of that one, so that was a neat surprise. :)

Our total is now 47 boxes that we have found. I can't wait to go do it again next weekend in Tyler! :)

Our first plants!!!!!!!

We planted 3 boxes in Harleton today! We had so much fun!! I almost enjoyed planting more than hunting! We hid 2 boxes that we called Harleton's History Series. One box was Centennial Park and the other was Harleton's Choo Choo. Then our 3rd box was called Wildcat Pride. I can't give more info about the planting b/c I don't want to give anything away. High School Musical Ice Tour

Last night I took Kimberly, Kirsten and Katherine to see the HSM ice tour in Bosseir City. We had so much fun. The girls LOVED it! I bought a cute picture of them standing next to a lifesize Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens cardboard figures. I'm going to see if Scott can scan it into the computer for me. I'll try to post it later. It's a really cute picture.

When we got home I switched gears and began playing nurse mommy. Christopher came down with 103 temp. He started having some dry heaves during the middle of the night. Then all day today he's continued with his temperature. I don't know what's wrong with him. We're supposed to go camping this weekend with some friends, but I'm afraid we won't be able to go. :( I'm just waiting for one of the other kids to get sick.

Kimberly reached a big mile stone tonight at AWANAS. She was the first person is Harleton Baptist Church AWANA history to complete the 4th book in TNT! I am so proud of her. She worked so hard!

Now I'm off to bed. Scott is going to take the first shift with Christopher.

Great God's Girl Party!

Last night I hosted the monthly CHEC God's Girl party for the 11-13yr olds at my house. We had a pizza/movie night, then slumber party for those who could stay. We had 16 girls here! We ate pizza, then watched a movie, then played some board games and Wii until 10:00. That's when parents began arriving for those who couldn't stay the whole night. After those who had to leave were gone, the remaining girls broke out the nail polish and did their nails. Then they settled into their sleeping bags and talked, and watched more movies, until the last one fell asleep at about 5:00 in the morning! LOL

During all this me and Elizabeth Monroe had a great time talking and watching the girls enjoy themselves. I'm so thankful she was there to help out. :)

Scott had taken the littles out on the town so they would be gone for the party. He brought them home about 11:00 to put them to bed. Kyrie went right to sleep, but Christopher was wide awake, so he joined the party until about 1:30 until he crashed. LOL

In the morning before all the girls left I remembered that I had bought some confetti for them to throw. So as a way to send them off they threw confetti in the air. That was fun to watch. Of course, now I'll be finding confetti in the house for the next year, but it was worth it to see their smiling faces. :)

Now I am going to go crash!
